Monte Sereno

Monte Sereno is the smallest community in the Santa Clara Valley. It’s nestled into the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains and located about 10 miles south of San Jose, between the city of Saratoga and the town of Los Gatos. Monte Sereno is named for El Sereno Mountain, which is home to residents in the southern section of the community.

Life in Monte Sereno

Spanning just more than a mile and half and a population of less than 4,000, Monte Sereno is an entirely residential community. Its greatest asset is the surrounding natural beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and Monte Sereno’s secluded environment makes it the ideal escape from the bustle of Silicon Valley.

Schools in Monte Sereno

Though there are no schools specifically serving the Monte Sereno community alone, residents are served by the superior school districts of Los Gatos, Saratoga, or Campbell, depending on location. There are a number of schools in these districts that consistently rate as some of the best in the country.
